DAYS OF THE QUARANTINE
The photo project Days of the Quarantine started along with the beginning of the second wave of the quarantine and restrictive measures in Greece for the prevention of COVID-19. From the first day and every day a different image is shot in the neighbourhoods of Attica. Sometimes at the beach, sometimes on the mountains, during protest marches downtown, in historical spots, in the houses of our fellow citizens but also in neighbourhoods that may not have had any photographic interest. Sometimes by going to places that are current and other times just by going out and driving at the streets of Athens in order to take pictures and find my frame in places I have not visited before. So far 160 different days that entail corresponding images and corresponding walks, scanning the urban fabric of Attica and beyond, horizontally and vertically. This project is an opinion poll about what is going on outside during these strange days. During these trips to our city I met people whom I talked to, I photographed some of them, while others I didn’t. I saw corners and places I would not have gone looking for otherwise; focusing on parks and neighbourhoods; the places where we all take our walks now, and not just that.
